A group of student journalists from across Minnesota toured The Guthrie, talked with columnist and arts critic Sheila Regan, and wrote reviews of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” The honorees are:

WINNER – Anavie Bernick, Minnehaha Academy

The judge said, “The lead engages the reader with alliterative word play, and then weaves that alliteration throughout the review. Sentence structures are sophisticated while still being true to journalistic standards of simplicity. Transitions expertly guide the reader from subject to subject as the author addresses key elements of the production. The criticism is kept until the end, but does not affect the overall positive experience. The closure summarizes three main reasons to attend the play without giving away the audience participation element.” Read the full review at Redhawks Online

HONORABLE MENTIONS –

Daphne Kleinschmit, Columbia Heights – Read the full review at ThreeSixty Journalism

Lola Rohl, Minnetonka – Read the full review at Breezes

Please join us in congratulating our review writers! “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” runs through Mar. 23 on the Wurtele Thrust Stage.
