In a May 20 announcement from the Minnesota High School Press Association, 150 students from seven schools have been selected for the MN North Star Honor Roll: 48 North Star Editors, 44 North Star Journalists, and 58 Distinguished Journalists. This is the first year after a several-year hiatus that MHSPA has published an honor roll.
“The honorees model the importance of telling the unique story of your school by amplifying student voices,” MHSPA President Kathryn Campbell said. “Whether it’s through daily or monthly updates with print, online, or broadcast news; the dynamic photography and thematic design of yearbook journalism, or creative expression in art and literature, these journalists understand the importance of truthful, ethical, and smart reporting.”
